ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how different settings of a breathing support technique, called positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP), can help improve breathing during robot-assisted surgery for prostate cancer. The study is looking at patients who are scheduled for this type of surgery and aims to find out if using a personalized PEEP setting for each patient can lead to better breathing results compared to a standard setting.
To participate in the trial, you need to be a male between 20 and 70 years old, scheduled for robotic prostate surgery, and have a body mass index (BMI) of 35 or less. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and if you qualify, you will receive either the standard PEEP or a tailored PEEP setting during your surgery. The research team will analyze your blood gases during the procedure to see which method works better for ventilation. It's important to note that patients with lung diseases or higher BMI, among other factors, would not be eligible to join this study.
