ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how a technique called motor imagery (MI) can help improve muscle activity, reduce pain, and enhance function after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair surgery. Motor imagery involves imagining movements without actually performing them, which may help in recovery. The study will include 36 participants who have previously undergone this type of shoulder surgery. They will be divided into two groups: one group will practice motor imagery in addition to a standard physical therapy program, while the other group will only receive the physical therapy.
To be eligible for the study, participants need to speak and understand Turkish, have had a rotator cuff repair, and score at least 40 points on a specific imagery questionnaire. They will participate in a four-week program and will be monitored for changes in pain, muscle activity, and overall shoulder function. This research aims to better understand how motor imagery could potentially aid in recovery and improve patient satisfaction after shoulder surgery.
