ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial aims to understand how threatened preterm labor (when a woman is at risk of delivering her baby too early) affects the heart and metabolism of fetuses and infants. Researchers want to learn about how the heart functions and changes, as well as the metabolic profiles (the chemical processes in the body) of babies who have been exposed to this condition during pregnancy. This information could help improve the care of babies at risk of complications due to early delivery.
To participate in the study, women must be at least 18 years old, have a single baby (not twins or more), and be able to speak and understand Spanish. Unfortunately, those with multiple pregnancies, significant fetal defects, or any conditions that could lead to premature labor are not eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to be monitored during your pregnancy, and your baby's health will be closely observed after birth. This research could provide valuable insights into the effects of early labor on infants' health.
