ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how hypertension (high blood pressure) affects pregnant women who are obese compared to those who are not obese. Hypertension during pregnancy can lead to serious health issues for both mothers and babies, and obesity is known to increase the risk of these problems. The researchers want to find out more about the outcomes for mothers and babies when hypertension occurs in these two groups of women.
To participate in this study, women must be between 20 and 35 years old, be pregnant with a single baby, and be at least 28 weeks along in their pregnancy. They should have either chronic hypertension (high blood pressure that existed before pregnancy) or gestational hypertension (high blood pressure that develops during pregnancy). Women with more severe conditions, like preeclampsia or other serious health issues, will not be included. If eligible, participants can expect to undergo regular health assessments throughout the trial to help researchers understand the impact of hypertension in different weight categories during pregnancy. This study is not yet recruiting participants, so there will be updates on when it starts.
