ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new approach to treating tears in the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), which is a common injury often seen in athletes. The researchers are specifically looking at a method called anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) using a graft taken from the quadriceps tendon in the thigh. This study aims to understand how effective this technique is in improving knee stability and overall function after an ACL injury. Participants will be evaluated using questionnaires to assess their knee health and track any re-injury rates.
To be eligible for this study, participants should be between the ages of 65 and 74 and have symptoms of knee instability due to a recent ACL injury. It's important to note that those with active knee inflammation, previous knee surgeries, or certain injuries to other knee ligaments will not be included. If you join this trial, you can expect to undergo the ACL surgery using the quadriceps tendon and be monitored for your recovery and knee function afterward. This research could help improve treatment options for ACL injuries in the future.
