ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the factors that can affect how quickly and effectively runners recover from Achilles tendinopathy, which is a common injury characterized by pain in the Achilles tendon at the back of the ankle. The researchers want to understand how different aspects, like training habits, running style, and even the type of shoes worn, can influence the healing process for runners who have had this pain for less than three months. Participants will have two in-person visits where their running patterns and tendon health will be assessed through ultrasound. Additionally, they will complete online surveys about their pain at one, two, and three months after their first visit.
To join the study, participants must be runners who experience Achilles tendon pain and have been running at least five kilometers per week. They should also have a specific pain score that indicates their condition is moderate or less. It's important to note that those who have had previous surgery or a serious injury to the Achilles tendon are not eligible. This trial aims to gather valuable information to improve treatment and prevention strategies for runners dealing with this common injury.
