ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how iodine nutrition affects thyroid function in women during pregnancy and up to six weeks after giving birth. Iodine is an essential nutrient that helps the thyroid gland produce hormones important for metabolism and overall health. The researchers want to understand how iodine levels change at different stages of pregnancy and after childbirth, and how these changes might affect thyroid function. By gathering this information, they hope to create better guidelines for iodine intake for pregnant women and new mothers.
To participate in the study, women must be healthy and aged between 20 and 40 years. They should be first-time mothers with no serious health issues like chronic diseases or a history of thyroid problems. Participants will provide urine samples to measure iodine levels and undergo tests to check their thyroid function. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to improve the understanding of maternal iodine nutrition and its impact on health during pregnancy and postpartum.
