ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how different timing for administering a special type of fluid, called contrast media, affects patients with a specific condition known as adhesive small bowel obstruction (SBO). When patients have SBO, their intestines are blocked, often due to scar tissue from previous surgeries. In this study, patients who are admitted to the hospital for this condition will be divided into two groups: one group will receive the contrast media 2 hours after a tube is used to relieve pressure, while the other group will receive it 24 hours later.

To be eligible for this trial, patients must be 18 years or older and have a confirmed diagnosis of adhesive small bowel obstruction, without any signs of infection or the need for immediate surgery. Patients who have had recent surgery or have certain other types of bowel obstruction will not be included. If a patient chooses to participate, they will be informed about the study and will need to sign a consent form. This trial is currently looking for new participants and aims to find out the best approach to help treat this condition.
