ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how effective a special test called endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is for examining lymph nodes in patients with certain types of bile duct cancer, such as hilar cholangiocarcinoma and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. The main goals are to find out how many patients cannot have surgery because the test shows that cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes and to identify features of these lymph nodes that could suggest cancer.

To participate in this trial, patients should be over 18 years old and have bile duct cancer that is believed to be operable, or in some cases, those being evaluated for a liver transplant. Individuals with a history of treated bile duct cancer or serious blood disorders that could complicate the procedure will not be eligible. Participants can expect to undergo the endoscopic ultrasound procedure, which involves a thin tube being inserted through the mouth to assess the lymph nodes. This study is currently recruiting participants, which means there is still an opportunity to join.
