ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how to prevent the formation of intrauterine adhesions, which are scar-like tissues that can develop in the uterus after surgery to remove myomas (also called fibroids). Myomas are common growths in women that can cause various symptoms, and their removal through laparoscopic (a minimally invasive surgery) or laparotomic (a more traditional surgical approach) procedures can sometimes lead to these adhesions, which may affect a woman’s ability to get pregnant. The study is testing whether using a special gel inside the uterus during surgery can help prevent these adhesions from forming.
To participate in this trial, women must be between 18 and 45 years old, have specific types of myomas, and be scheduled for either laparoscopic or laparotomic myomectomy. It’s important that they do not already have adhesions before the surgery. Participants will be closely monitored throughout the study and may help contribute to important findings that could improve fertility outcomes for future patients. If you or someone you know fits these criteria and is interested in learning more, this could be an opportunity to help advance research in this area.
