ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how people recover after an Achilles tendon rupture, which is a common injury that can affect mobility and daily activities. The researchers want to understand how the tendon and calf muscles heal over time. To do this, they will use ultrasound scans to look at the tendon, conduct strength tests on the calf muscles, and ask participants questions about how they are coping in their everyday lives. Participants will be evaluated when they first visit the clinic and then again at various points over the next year, including 8 weeks, 10 weeks, 4 months, 6 months, and 1 year after their injury.
If you are 16 years or older and can give informed consent, you might be eligible to join the study. However, individuals who have difficulty understanding English or cannot provide informed consent due to cognitive impairment cannot participate. By joining this trial, you can help researchers learn more about the recovery process for Achilles tendon injuries, which could lead to better treatments in the future.
