ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a medication called tranexamic acid (TXA) to see if it can help prevent bleeding during and after a procedure called endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR). EMR is used to remove abnormal growths in the upper gastrointestinal (GI) tract, like gastric or esophageal polyps. While this procedure can help prevent cancer, it can also lead to bleeding, and the researchers want to find out if using TXA locally can reduce this risk.
To participate in the trial, you must be over 18 years old and be referred for an endoscopic resection of a growth in the upper GI tract. However, if you have a history of allergic reactions to TXA, have had seizures, or are pregnant, you won't be eligible to join. If you do participate, you can expect to receive the standard procedure along with TXA to see how well it works in preventing bleeding. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and all genders are welcome to apply.
