ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at different surgical options to treat gingival recession, which is when the gums pull back from the teeth. This condition can lead to tooth sensitivity, discomfort, and can affect the appearance of the smile. The study aims to see how effective two types of surgeries—using connective tissue grafts or de-epithelized free gingival grafts—are in thickening the gums compared to just cleaning the area without surgery. The trial will help determine the best approach to improve gum thickness and maintain healthy gums for patients with this condition.

If you are between the ages of 65 and 88, in good health, and have been diagnosed with gingival recession, you may be eligible to participate. You'll need to have good oral hygiene and be willing to provide consent and attend follow-up visits. However, if you have cavities, gum disease, or are a smoker, you won't be able to join. Participants can expect to receive care and monitoring throughout the study, and their involvement will contribute to finding better treatments for gum recession.
