ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a device called the Flexi-bar, which uses vibrations, on balance and muscle strength in older adults living in the community. The goal is to see if adding the Flexi-bar to regular balance and strength training can help prevent falls more effectively than just doing the training alone. Falls are a significant concern for older adults, and improving muscle strength and balance can help reduce the risk.
To participate in this study, individuals must be aged between 65 and 85 and able to move independently without needing support. Unfortunately, those with certain health conditions, such as severe heart issues or cognitive impairments, cannot take part. Participants will be involved in a 12-week exercise program that combines balance and strength training, and they can expect to see improvements in their muscle strength and balance, which may help them stay safer and more active.
