ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different types of dental implants impact the quality of a person's voice. Specifically, it compares the acoustic sound quality of patients who have received two-implant overdentures (a type of denture supported by two implants) versus those who have the all-on-4 method (which uses four implants to support a full arch of teeth). The goal is to see how well these implant-supported dentures not only improve chewing and aesthetics but also affect the way patients sound when they talk.
To participate in this study, you need to be between the ages of 65 and 74 and should not have any current voice disorders or have undergone speech therapy. Additionally, you must have had your implant prosthesis for at least a year and still be using it regularly. However, individuals who smoke a significant amount, have a history of respiratory diseases, or have lost any implants before the study cannot participate. If you join, you can expect to undergo assessments to evaluate your voice quality and the overall success of your dental implants. This trial could help improve understanding of how dental implants can affect communication for patients with missing teeth.
