ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new home-based exercise program designed for children with a rare condition called ataxia telangiectasia (A-T), which affects movement and coordination. Since there is currently no cure for A-T, this trial aims to see if a specially created exercise routine can help improve the fitness and overall health of children with this condition. The program has been developed with input from children, families, therapists, and researchers to ensure it meets their needs.
To be eligible for the trial, children must be between 4 and 11 years old, have a confirmed diagnosis of A-T, and be able to walk independently for a short distance. Participants should also be able to communicate in English, either on their own or with help from a parent or guardian. During the trial, families can expect to engage in the exercise program at home, and researchers will assess how effective and acceptable this approach is. Importantly, children who are currently receiving cancer treatments or are very unwell, as well as those involved in other trials, cannot participate.
