ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on helping Black women who struggle with binge eating and obesity. Binge eating is when someone frequently eats large amounts of food in a short time and feels out of control during these episodes. This trial aims to create a digital treatment specifically designed for Black women, as they often face unique challenges and have not had enough access to effective treatments. The goal is to help reduce binge eating and prevent weight gain, which can lead to serious health issues.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be women over 18 years old with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, which indicates obesity. They should also have a smartphone that connects to Bluetooth and experience at least one binge eating episode each week. Additionally, they must live or work within 30 miles of Kannapolis, NC. Participants can expect to take part in a digital program that will provide support and strategies to manage binge eating. It's important to note that women who are pregnant, currently in treatment for substance abuse, or have certain eating disorders may not be able to join the study.
