ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on helping Black families in Houston learn more about their risk for hereditary cancers, such as breast and colorectal cancer. By using a simple screening tool and telegenetics (which means using technology to connect with genetic counselors), the study aims to identify individuals who may benefit from genetic testing. This testing can provide important information about their cancer risk and how they can take steps to reduce it.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old, self-identify as Black or African-American, and agree to take part by signing a consent form. There are no specific health conditions required to join, so if you meet these criteria, you could be eligible. If you choose to participate, you can expect to receive support from trusted community organizations that will guide you through the genetic testing process and help you understand the results. This trial hopes to empower individuals and families with knowledge about their health.
