ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a condition called gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) that can cause symptoms like regurgitation and discomfort in the throat. The researchers want to understand how certain measurements of muscle function in the throat can help prevent reflux from the esophagus into the throat area. They will also test whether applying gentle pressure to a specific part of the throat can improve the situation and make swallowing and belching easier for patients.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between 21 and 85 years old and have GERD symptoms related to regurgitation and throat issues. However, if you have a history of substance abuse, certain medical conditions, or are pregnant, you may not be eligible. If you join the trial, you can expect to undergo some tests to measure how well your throat muscles are working and see if the pressure technique helps reduce your symptoms. This study is currently looking for participants, and all genders can take part.
