ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "The Surgical Safety Checklist Revisited," is focused on improving a tool called the Surgical Safety Checklist, which helps ensure that everything is done safely before, during, and after surgery. The research team is creating a new version of this checklist called the "High-Performance Checklist" (HPC) toolkit, which will provide healthcare providers with better ways to use and adapt the checklist. They will be testing this toolkit in the operating rooms of the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary to see how it can be improved based on feedback from those using it.
If you are a surgical staff member, such as a surgeon, anesthesiologist, or nurse, or a patient who has had surgery in the last three months at this hospital, you may be eligible to participate. Participants will be asked to fill out questionnaires and take part in interviews and team meetings to share their thoughts and experiences. The goal is to make the Surgical Safety Checklist more effective, which could lead to better outcomes and safer surgeries for patients.
