ClinConnect Summary
The PEER-CM trial is studying how providing incentives can help people who use methamphetamine achieve personal goals related to reducing harm from drug use. The trial compares this approach, known as contingency management, with standard support services where participants receive rewards for attending peer support meetings. The goal is to see which method is more effective in helping people access and benefit from harm reduction services.
To participate, individuals must be part of a community-based organization that uses peer support specialists to connect with people who use drugs. They should also be willing to learn new strategies for providing support. Participants in this study will likely have recently used methamphetamine and will engage in activities designed to help them set and reach their own harm reduction goals. This trial is currently looking for new sites to join, and it is open to all genders aged 18 and older. It's an opportunity to get support while being part of a study aiming to improve services for those struggling with methamphetamine use.
