ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a specific breathing technique, called positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP), affects the way obese patients breathe during laparoscopic or robotic surgery. The goal is to see how PEEP can improve lung function in patients who need help with breathing while they are under anesthesia and have air introduced into their abdomen (a process known as pneumoperitoneum).
To participate in this study, you need to be an adult with obesity (a body mass index of 30 or more) and be scheduled for this type of surgery. However, if you have certain serious health issues, like severe heart problems or chronic lung diseases, you won't be able to join. If you do take part, you can expect to be monitored closely during your surgery to see how well your lungs are working with the PEEP technique. This study is currently looking for participants, so it's a chance to contribute to important research that could improve care for patients like you in the future.
