ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new way to help people in West Africa who are dealing with serious mental health issues like psychosis, mania, and depression. Many individuals currently receive care from traditional or faith healers at prayer camps, and this study is testing a program that combines mobile health technology with direct support from nurses. The goal is to train these healers to provide better care and also ensure that patients receive the necessary medications from a visiting nurse at their location.
To participate in the trial, individuals need to be at least 18 years old, speak either Twi or English, and currently be staying at a study prayer camp with a diagnosis of one of the mentioned mental health conditions. However, those who have serious physical illnesses that require urgent medical attention will not be included. If you join this study, you can expect to receive both training and medical support aimed at improving your mental health care, all while being part of a research effort that could lead to better mental health services in the future.
