ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on studying a new method for screening small bowel cancer in patients with Lynch syndrome, a genetic condition that increases the risk of certain cancers. The researchers want to see if a special device called a videocapsule can effectively detect both cancerous and pre-cancerous changes in the small intestine. The videocapsule is a small camera that you swallow, which takes pictures of your small bowel as it travels through your digestive system. This trial will collect information from patients with Lynch syndrome who undergo this screening to better understand how effective it is.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to have a specific genetic mutation in one of the genes linked to Lynch syndrome. If someone is at least 18 years old and can provide consent, they may be able to join. Those who have had previous surgery on their small bowel or cannot safely swallow the capsule will not be included. Participants can expect to undergo standard procedures that their doctor would normally recommend, and they will help researchers gather important information that could improve cancer screening for others in the future.
