ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into how music and a gentle form of brain stimulation can help patients with neurological conditions, specifically those who have disorders of consciousness (DOC) or have had a stroke. The researchers want to find out if listening to music can improve brain activity and overall health in these patients, and if this approach can also help lessen the stress caregivers may experience while caring for them. Participants will be placed into one of three groups, each receiving a different type of music intervention, and their progress will be monitored by neurologists.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be over 18 years old and have specific conditions like post-stroke aphasia (difficulty speaking after a stroke) or disorders of consciousness. However, individuals with a history of certain neurological or psychiatric diseases, those with hearing injuries, or those who have previously experienced a stroke will not be able to participate. Throughout the trial, participants can expect regular assessments to track their improvement and the effects of the interventions. This study is currently recruiting participants of all genders, and it's an exciting opportunity to explore non-drug treatments for serious neurological issues.
