ClinConnect Summary
The "Mind the Heart" study is looking into the mental health of children and teenagers in Denmark who were born with congenital heart defects. These heart issues can often lead to mental health problems, which are sometimes not recognized or treated properly. The study aims to create a simple online screening tool that parents and their children can use to check for mental disorders. Additionally, researchers plan to build a website with helpful information about mental health specifically for families dealing with congenital heart disease, to raise awareness among both families and healthcare professionals.
To join this study, children and teenagers aged 5 to 18 who have been born with a congenital heart defect and live in Denmark can participate. Unfortunately, those younger than 5, older than 18, or those who cannot understand Danish well enough to fill out the questionnaire won't be eligible. Participants can expect to complete an online screening and contribute to important research that could help improve mental health support for kids with heart conditions in the future.
