ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the CABS-Study, is focused on using advanced computer technology (known as machine learning) to help predict how patients will do after having weight-loss surgery (bariatric surgery). Specifically, the study aims to estimate patients' body mass index (BMI) and the likelihood of complications, such as leaks or hernias, after the surgery. It also seeks to understand how likely it is for patients with Type 2 diabetes to experience remission, which means their diabetes symptoms improve after the surgery. The results of this study will be made available to the public through a web-based application.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be at least 18 years old and planning to undergo bariatric surgery. Unfortunately, those under 18, those who can’t be tracked for at least six months after the surgery, or those unable to provide informed consent will not be eligible. If you join this study, you can expect to contribute to important research that could help improve care for future bariatric surgery patients.
