ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a specific treatment approach for patients with pressure ulcers caused by osteomyelitis, which is an infection of the bone. These pressure ulcers are common in individuals with neuromotor disabilities, such as those affecting the spinal cord or nerves. The trial will assess how effective a one-stage surgical treatment combined with antibiotic therapy is for closing these wounds and improving healing. By gathering information on the participants, the researchers aim to understand better which factors might lead to successful or unsuccessful outcomes in this vulnerable group.

To be eligible for the study, participants must be at least 18 years old, have a neuromotor disability, and require treatment for a pressure ulcer at a specific rehabilitation unit in the hospital. They should also be willing to take part in the study. If enrolled, participants can expect to undergo the surgical procedure and receive tailored antibiotic treatment afterward. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and it’s important to note that those under court protection cannot join.
