ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding and improving the eye health of children and adolescents in China, specifically looking at the common vision problem known as myopia, or nearsightedness. The study will involve nearly one million young participants across ten provinces. Researchers aim to find out how many children have myopia, the severity of their condition, and how effective certain interventions can be in reducing the number of new cases. These interventions will include changing how children sit and encouraging them to spend more time outdoors.
To participate in this study, children must be in kindergarten through high school (grades 1-3), and their parents or guardians must provide consent. However, children with certain eye problems or previous eye surgeries will not be eligible. Throughout the trial, participants will take part in various activities designed to improve their eye health, and researchers will evaluate how these activities impact their vision. This study is currently recruiting participants, and the findings could lead to important strategies for promoting better vision health nationwide.
