ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a condition called acute necrotizing pancreatitis (ANP), which is a serious inflammation of the pancreas that can lead to fluid collections in the abdomen. The main goal of the study is to understand how and when these fluid collections become encapsulated, meaning they form a protective layer around them. To do this, participants will have MRI scans starting 15 days after they arrive at the hospital, with more scans every five days until the encapsulation is observed or if they need a different treatment.
To join this study, individuals must be diagnosed with acute necrotizing pancreatitis and have been in the hospital within two weeks of experiencing pain. They should also be willing to provide consent to participate. However, some people will not be eligible, such as those who have certain conditions that make MRI unsafe, like having a pacemaker or claustrophobia. If you or a loved one qualifies, you can expect to have several MRI scans to help the researchers gather important information about this condition.
