Preeclampsia Intrauterine Growth Restriction Genomics

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, called "Fetal, Obstetrics and Reproduction Genomics," is designed to study how certain genetic factors affect conditions like preeclampsia and intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) in pregnant women who are 40 years or older and are using assisted reproductive technologies, such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) or egg donation. The goal is to improve the screening process for these conditions, which can impact the health of both the mother and the baby.

To participate in this study, women must be at least 40 years old, have a singleton pregnancy (meaning one baby), and have become pregnant through IVF or egg donation. Participants will need to give their written consent to join the trial. It’s important to note that women who have multiple pregnancies, pregnancies from artificial insemination, or significant fetal abnormalities found early in pregnancy will not be eligible. As the trial is not yet recruiting, details on what participants can expect will be shared once the study begins. This research aims to help improve care for older mothers and their babies by understanding more about placental health.
