ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether listening to music can help children relax and feel less anxious during dental care when they are sedated with a mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide (known as MEOPA). This is particularly important for children aged 4 to 12 who might be nervous about dental visits or have special needs. By using music, the researchers hope to improve the experience of these young patients, making it easier for them to receive the dental care they need without requiring more intensive sedation methods like general anesthesia.
To participate in this study, children must be between 4 and 12 years old and need to have dental work that will require sedation. Parents must give their consent, and the child must be able to communicate in French. Participants will have the chance to listen to music during their dental appointments, which may help them feel more comfortable and relaxed. It is important to note that children with certain medical conditions, breathing problems, or hearing impairments may not be eligible for this trial.
