ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how using a smartphone app to give patients visual feedback on their tooth brushing can improve their oral health, especially for those receiving treatment for gum disease (periodontal treatment). The main goal is to see if this daily feedback helps people brush better and whether it leads to healthier teeth and gums. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: one using a manual toothbrush, another using an electric toothbrush without feedback, and a third using an electric toothbrush with daily feedback from the app.
To take part in this study, you need to be someone who requires periodontal treatment and is ready to keep a daily brushing diary on your phone. You also need to be comfortable using a smartphone to install and use the app. Participants will have check-up appointments every three weeks to assess their oral hygiene. This study is open to all adults aged 70 and older, but people who smoke, have certain health conditions, or are pregnant cannot join. Your participation could help improve understanding of how technology can support better brushing habits and oral health!
