Spatial Neglect Virtual Reality Assessment

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, titled "Spatial Cognition Assessment in Virtual Reality," is exploring how virtual reality (VR) can help assess and diagnose unilateral spatial neglect (USN). USN is a condition that often occurs after a stroke on the right side of the brain, causing individuals to have difficulty noticing or responding to things on the left side. The study aims to use VR technology to create a realistic environment where researchers can better evaluate how patients with USN perceive and interact with their surroundings.

If you're interested in participating, the trial is looking for individuals aged 65 to 74 who have experienced a stroke on the right side of their brain. However, individuals with certain conditions, such as epilepsy, severe cognitive impairment, or significant sensory or motor deficits, would not be eligible. Participants can expect to engage in VR activities that will help researchers understand their spatial awareness better. This trial is currently recruiting, and your involvement could contribute to advancing the understanding and treatment of USN, potentially improving the quality of life for many stroke survivors.
