ClinConnect Summary
The TRUsted trial is designed to help reduce gun violence in certain neighborhoods in New Haven, Connecticut, by providing support to individuals and families affected by firearm injuries. The study aims to improve housing stability by offering financial assistance and financial education to people who have recently returned from prison and their families. Additionally, the trial will train community members in trauma-informed counseling to provide mental health support, helping individuals cope with the emotional impacts of violence.
To be eligible for the study, participants must be at least 18 years old, have a family member who is currently incarcerated or has returned from prison within the past year, and live in one of the six neighborhoods with high rates of gun violence. Participants can expect to receive housing support and access to mental health resources, which can help improve their overall well-being and safety in the community.
