ClinConnect Summary
The STRIVE trial is studying whether a special training program can help junior doctors (first- and second-year medical residents) feel more resilient, which means better able to handle stress and emotional challenges in their work. The researchers want to find out if this formal resilience training can actually improve how these doctors feel about their own ability to cope with stress, and if the timing of the training (whether they receive it in their first or second year) makes a difference.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be enrolled in the Anesthesia and Emergency Medicine residency programs at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, and there are no restrictions based on age, gender, health status, or race. During the trial, participants will receive resources on resilience, participate in formal training, and then report their feelings about their resilience three months later. This could be an important opportunity for doctors to enhance their skills in managing stress as they begin their medical careers.
