ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how Virtual Reality (VR) can help young patients feel more confident and capable when facing healthcare situations. The researchers want to see if using a VR program can improve self-efficacy—essentially, the belief in one’s ability to handle health challenges—compared to the usual care, which does not include VR. The trial is currently looking for participants aged 5 to 25 who are receiving care at specific healthcare facilities.
To be eligible to join the study, participants need to be within the age range and must be able to give their consent. However, some individuals cannot join, including those with a history of seizures, current nausea or motion sickness, or who are clinically unstable. Additionally, those who wear corrective glasses, are pregnant, or do not want to participate will not be included. Participants in the trial can expect to engage with the VR program during their healthcare visits, which may help them feel more empowered in their health journey.
