ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a method called Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) to see how well it can help doctors quickly find skull fractures in children who have experienced mild head injuries. The goal is to improve the diagnosis process in the emergency department, making it faster and less costly, which can help doctors start the right treatment sooner for kids with potential brain injuries.

To participate, children aged 2 to 18 who have had blunt head trauma within the last 24 hours may be eligible, especially if they show signs of scalp injury. However, kids with certain conditions like open head wounds, bleeding disorders, or pre-existing neurological issues cannot join the study. If your child qualifies and participates, they can expect to undergo a simple ultrasound as part of their evaluation, which is a quick and painless procedure. This study is currently looking for participants and aims to improve care for young patients with head injuries.
