ClinConnect Summary

The PRODY-BED trial is studying Binge Eating Disorder (BED) to understand different profiles of adults who experience this condition. Researchers want to see if people with BED can be grouped based on how they manage their emotions, their eating behaviors, and their thinking skills. They aim to find out if these profiles can help predict how well someone will do in treatment and how their symptoms might change over time. Participants will complete questionnaires before starting treatment, halfway through, at the end of treatment, and again at 6 and 12 months later.

To be eligible for this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and have a diagnosis of Binge Eating Disorder. You also need to be receiving treatment at one of the participating locations. However, if you have severe mental health issues, like severe psychosis or cognitive impairment, you won't be able to take part. If you join the study, expect to share your experiences through surveys that will help researchers learn more about how to better treat BED and improve outcomes for people living with this disorder.
