ClinConnect Summary
This study is testing a new orthodontic approach for people whose adult teeth haven’t come in on time (dental retention). Researchers plan to use digital planning, 3D printing, and a surgical method to help create space for the affected tooth, with the goal of speeding up treatment. In the first phase, they will examine about 30 patients aged 15–25 who are seeking orthodontic care, using a range of dental exams and imaging. In the second phase, eligible participants will be divided into a main group that gets the new method and a comparison group that receives standard treatment to see which works better.
Participants can expect a series of dental evaluations and imaging, followed by the planned treatment steps. The main outcome the researchers will look at is how long the overall treatment takes, aiming to shorten it over about two years. The study is taking place at Samara State Medical University in Samara, Russia, and is currently enrolling by invitation. It’s not a drug or device regulated by the FDA, and the researchers plan to share study protocols and results with other researchers after the study, with safeguards for privacy. There is a safety monitoring team overseeing the study.
