ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called Resistance Intensive Personal Training (RIPT), is exploring how a special strength training program can help young people with cerebral palsy (CP) improve their muscle strength and overall movement abilities. The goal is to see if this program, which combines the expertise of physiotherapists and fitness professionals, can help youth with CP reach their personal goals and be more active in their daily lives. The trial is taking place in Calgary, where such training programs are currently not available.
To participate in this trial, individuals need to be between 8 and 17 years old, able to understand directions in English, and willing to give their best effort in the training sessions. Participants can expect to engage in a personalized training program designed to enhance their physical abilities in a supportive environment. The researchers will also look into any challenges or support that might affect the program's delivery in a community setting. This trial is actively recruiting participants and aims to make a positive impact on the lives of youth with CP and their families.
