ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is focused on creating and testing an Italian version of a tool called the Clinical Assessment of Dysphagia in Neurodegeneration (CADN). Dysphagia is a condition where people have difficulty swallowing, which can happen in individuals with neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson's or Alzheimer's. Currently, there isn’t a validated tool in Italian to assess swallowing difficulties in these patients, so this study aims to fill that gap by translating and ensuring that the Italian version works well.

To participate in the trial, individuals must be over 18 years old and have a diagnosed neurodegenerative disease. They should be able to follow simple instructions and sit upright for about 20 minutes during the assessment. However, those with a history of stroke, certain surgeries, or other specific medical conditions may not be eligible. Participants will help researchers understand how well this new tool works, which could ultimately improve care for others facing similar swallowing challenges.
