ClinConnect Summary
The ORganoid GeneratioN Study for Cancer, also known as the ORIGINS trial, is a research project aiming to create new models of cancer using samples taken from patients. This means that doctors want to collect tissue samples from participants who have been diagnosed with cancer, which will help them study the disease better and eventually improve treatments. The study is currently looking for participants aged 18 and older who are undergoing procedures like surgery or biopsies to collect these samples.
If you decide to participate, you'll be asked to provide permission for your tissue samples to be used in research. They are particularly interested in patients with confirmed or suspected cancer. However, if you're pregnant or unable to provide samples for any reason, you wouldn't be eligible for this study. This is an important opportunity for patients to contribute to cancer research, potentially helping to pave the way for new therapies in the future.
