ClinConnect Summary
The MoVE Trial is a research study aimed at helping African Americans who are on hemodialysis, a treatment for end-stage kidney disease. The goal of the trial is to see if a special program called motivational interviewing can encourage patients to stick to their dialysis schedule more consistently. This program is delivered by trained health coaches and is designed to fit the cultural needs of the participants. The study will last for 24 weeks and includes surveys and motivational sessions for those who qualify.
To be eligible for the MoVE Trial, participants must be African American adults aged 18 and older who have been receiving hemodialysis for at least 30 days. They should have missed at least one treatment session or shortened a session due to non-medical reasons within the past two months. If you decide to participate, you can expect to engage in conversations with a coach aimed at helping you stay on track with your dialysis treatments. This study is currently recruiting participants, and your involvement could potentially make a difference in your treatment experience.
