ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether special insoles, called medial wedge insoles, can help improve walking and balance in people recovering from total hip replacement surgery. The research aims to see if these insoles can make a difference in how well patients move and function during their rehabilitation, compared to those using regular (sham) insoles. Participants will take part in a 6-week rehabilitation program that focuses on managing pain, improving strength and movement, and addressing individual needs through therapy.
To join the study, individuals should be between the ages of 65 and 74, have recently undergone total hip replacement surgery (1-6 months ago), and have specific hip conditions. However, those who had surgery through certain approaches or have other knee issues might not qualify. Throughout the study, participants will receive personalized insoles and will be monitored to see how their walking improves during and after the rehabilitation program. This research could provide valuable insights into enhancing recovery for patients after hip replacement surgery.
