ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new approach to prevent drug misuse, specifically focusing on opioids, by engaging young people in community organizations. The trial has two phases. In the first phase, researchers will work with one community organization in North Carolina to create a strategy that involves young people in prevention efforts. They will develop a guide to help other organizations use this approach. In the second phase, four different organizations will be involved, with some using the new strategy and others not, to see how effective this method is in reducing substance misuse among youth.
To participate in this study, community organizations must be based in North Carolina and focused on preventing opioid misuse, with leaders and staff ready to implement the new strategy. Young people aged 11 to 29 who are involved with these organizations and want to participate can also join. Participants can expect to contribute to the design and implementation of the prevention strategy while helping researchers understand its impact on both organizational and individual levels. It's important to note that organizations already heavily involving young people in their prevention work will not be eligible for this trial.
