ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of magnesium sulfate, a medication that helps muscles relax, in children who are having planned abdominal surgeries. The researchers want to find out if giving magnesium sulfate before surgery can improve how quickly and how long other muscle relaxants, called rocuronium and cis-atracurium, work in the body. They are specifically looking at how well these medications help with muscle relaxation during surgery.
Children aged 2 to 12 years old, of any gender, who are scheduled for certain types of elective laparoscopic surgeries may be eligible to join this study. To participate, they should be in good health overall, as indicated by a specific physical status classification. Participants can expect to receive careful monitoring during the study, and their parents will need to give permission for them to take part. It's important to know that children with certain health conditions or allergies, or those taking specific medications, will not be able to join the study.
