ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is investigating a method to improve breathing support for newborns undergoing surgery. Specifically, the researchers want to see if using a special tool called Lung Ultrasound (LUS) can help doctors choose the best level of Positive End-Expiratory Pressure (PEEP) during anesthesia. PEEP is a technique used to keep the lungs open and working properly. The goal is to see if this method can reduce the amount of oxygen needed while still keeping oxygen levels in the blood stable, which may help prevent breathing complications after surgery.

To be eligible for this study, babies must be at least 33 weeks old at birth and up to 50 weeks old after conception, and they should be scheduled for surgery that requires general anesthesia. Babies with certain heart or lung conditions, immune diseases, or genetic issues, as well as those who do not have parental consent, cannot participate. If your baby is part of this trial, you can expect close monitoring and care to ensure the best possible outcomes during and after the surgery.
