ClinConnect Summary
The Early vs. Late Time-Restricted Eating trial is looking at how the timing of meals can help teenagers with obesity lose weight. Specifically, it compares two different eating schedules: one where participants eat earlier in the day and one where they eat later. The goal is to see which method is more effective for helping them lose weight and improve their body mass index (BMI), which is a measure of body fat based on height and weight.
To participate, you need to be between 12 and 21 years old and have obesity, which means your BMI is above the 95th percentile for your age. Participants should be ready to stick to the study’s eating and fasting schedules and can expect regular assessments to track their progress. However, the study cannot accept individuals with certain medical conditions, eating disorders, or those who have had weight loss surgery. This trial is currently recruiting participants, so if you or someone you know fits these criteria, it could be a great opportunity to explore a new approach to managing weight.
