Qualitative Study Semi Structured Interview Antithrombotic Stroke Medication Adherence

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how pharmacists communicate with elderly patients who have had an ischemic stroke, which is a type of stroke caused by a blockage in blood flow to the brain. The aim is to understand the challenges and barriers these patients face in sticking to their medication routine after the stroke, especially those who are taking blood-thinning medications to prevent further strokes.

To participate in this trial, you must be 65 years or older, have been hospitalized for an ischemic stroke, and already be on blood-thinning treatment before the stroke. You also need to live at home and plan to return there after your hospital stay. If you join, you can expect to take part in an interview with a pharmacist, which will be recorded (with your permission). The goal is to gather important insights that could help improve the care and support for patients like you in the future.
